| What's New 2000 December 23rd - Brownies Holiday Extravaganza! Postgame Report: A throw back to our old holiday shows in Port Chester, NY (long live the BEAT!). Rob Schwimmer again ROCKED on the theremin (wearing Tarquin's custom made Satan/traded-to-the-Devils/made-captain/wears-#6)! Ben Kweller and Brian from GUSTER joined Tarquin, Dave, and Jon from the Zambonis on the brand new "Eight Days of Chanukah" (the first and last performance ever!). We got together the night before for a 1-hour practice turned 6-hour marathon of fun. Two Weezer covers later, and after the Indomitable Happiest Guys in the World, Adam Elk, and Philistines Jr., The Zambonis finally rocked through till Christmas Eve (with Rob Schwimmer on Melodica)! Joining virtually ALL the bands on Sax, was the extraordinary Josh "Satin" Sheinberg. Thanks to all who turned out and Merry New Year! December 16th - Laconia Ice Arena, Laconia New Hampshire Postgame Report: Plain and simple: MERRILL IS THE MAN! Another "We Play You Skate" show that was fun all the way through. From the high school band folks who joined us on rock'n'roll part 2, to the Laconia Leafs jerseys. Tarquin joined the skaters, with his wireless system for his bass! Thanks a lot to Merrill, Dennis, and everyone who restored our faith in humanity. It was a really great weekend. November 11th - We're late in getting this up, but now is your chance to vote for The Zambonis in Maxim Magazine, as "The Best Band You've Never Heard Of". We're used to elbows in the face, so this back-handed compliment is a joy for us. There are a few pages to get through, so be patient... We'll let you know about more shows soon... (e.g. Laconia, NH in December). October 27th - Super Hockey Halloween Party at Brownies!!! Lots of Halloween surprises and, of course, our (NJ) Devilish friends are making the trip across the river again. We go on at 10:30pm, so don't be late! 169 Ave. A (between 10th and 11th streets) in New York City. As always appropriate attire is encouraged (full equipment). Although, if you're ever going to show up in a baseball outfit, this is probably the show (Halloween and all...). October 7th - Join us in front of the Hartford Civic Center for the reigning Calder Cup Champions' Opening Day Block Party! Come to the Trumbull Street side of the Civic Center for The Zambonis plus the usual fare of Slap-Shot competitions, and face painting, leading right up until gametime. Go Wolfpack!!! September 28th - Another all out blast at Brownies with our (New Jersey) Devilish friends! 169 Ave. A (between 10th and 11th streets) in New York City. We go on at 9pm SHARP, so don't be late! Proper hockey attire (full-equipment) is suggested. June 2nd - Come cheer for the Hartford Wolfpack (or the Amercs if you want to be that way) to the sound on The Zambonis!!! We'll be playing in front of the Hartford Civic Center (on Trumbull St.) between 5pm and gametime (7:35pm). It's game 5 of the Calder Cup Finals featuring The Hartford Wolfpack (minor league affiliate of the New York Rangers) and The Rochester Americans (minor league affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres). LET'S GO WHALERS!!! May 5th - The Zambonis first show back in Brownies since the January extravaganza! Be sure to get tickets in advance at TicketWeb. April 22nd - The Zambonis! will be playing with The FIGGS! and Schaumgummi! in Port Chester, NY. For more info call Lee @ 203.324.9750. April 9th - For those of you in New England (or that have satellite dishes) the piece that NESN has been running on the band, will air on the Bruins pre-game show 1/2 hour before the game. Enjoy the show and the game, and when it's over, try to find it in your heart to root for the Avalanche... or at least #77. March 24th, PM - The Abbey Lounge, Postgame Report: A classic Boston bar gig. One picture of JFK and one of Bobby Orr's cup winning goal. Thanks to the Whaler's fans who came all the way from Waterbury, CT, the Satan fan in the Sabres jersey, and the Harvard crew singing along! March 24th, AM - South Burlington Central Elementary School, Postgame Report: This is certainly one we'll NEVER forget. Not too many rock bands get to play k-5 gigs, AND eat in the cafeteria (where the hot-dogs "Bounce")! Due to Hockey Monkey getting played around the clock on The BUZZ 99.5, a 5th grade teacher named Mrs. T, contacted us ,and asked if we could make an appearance. Several emails later we ended up judging 9 choreographed, lip-synched performances to Hockey Monkey and Avalanche. If that wasn't enough, one group of kids put the words of the preamble of the constitution to the tune of Hockey Monkey! We also played four songs semi-acoustic (hockey sticks against the floor for drums). Definitely one of our favorite gigs ever. Special thanks to Marty, Kelly, Joey, and Ben for Lasagna and lodging! See pics... March 23rd - Burlington, VT's Higher Ground, Postgame Report: What a show! A huge, truly all-ages crowd turned up for a really fun night. We tip our helmets to the three punks from Montreal (who for some reason showed up in old school Oilers jerseys). Sorry we didn't get to play street hockey longer (busted by the man). Shout outs to James Kochalka for keeping it relatively "All-ages", and Steve Lemke for some great write-ups in the Free Press. Finally, it couldn't have happened at all without Zak, Mom, and Artie Levagne, who not only brought down part of Zak's drum kit, but Zak even joined us to play Hockey Monkey! ZAK ROCKS! See pics... March 10th - Watch for Dave and Jon Zamboni (doing an acoustic version of Hockey Monkey) on the New York area Metro guide channel. This coincides with their feature on the MSG Zamboni® drivers! It is still running as of April 4th. See pics... February 4th - Wow! What a show, what a crowd, what a night! See pics from the Guster/Zamboni's show at the Webster Music Hall in Hartford, CT.
